For those who have never visited Dubai it can be hard to imagine the true size and wonder of the place, and if you are advising people to go and explaining what to do when they get there, it can be even harder. David Blythe from Travelbag in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire is a specialist travel consultant and has worked for the company for six years, he recently attended a familiarisation trip to Dubai with the DTCM and here is what he had to say about his trip:
What did you enjoy most about Dubai?
I always find the leisure side of trips to be the most fun. I think on this occasion Wild Wadi was my favourite. I am a bit of a big kid really and it is a fantastic water park.
What was your overall opinion of Dubai?
It is an amazing destination, very cosmopolitan.
What did you learn about Dubai that you didn't know before you travelled there?
I didn’t realise how far out into the desert Dubailand was going to spread or that it would be twice the size of Walt Disney Florida! I also had no idea a metro was being built, nor that a new airport – expected to be world’s largest – would be opening in Jebel Ali.
Was it beneficial doing Dubai Expert beforehand?
Dubai Expert is like learning the pieces of a puzzle. Then visiting is like seeing them all in place and how each bit relates.
What would you like to add?
I was very impressed with the whole visit, the trip was planned with great detail and everything worked like clockwork.
