The place to be

One of the travel industry’s most prestigious events is coming to Dubai in 2009. The Institute of Travel and Tourism’s (ITT) annual conference will commandeer the Intercontinental Hotel, Festival City from 8 to 10 June 2009. Key players from the world of travel and tourism will be addressing delegates. One speaker already confirmed is Thomas Cook chief executive Manny Fontenla-Novoa.

The Government of Dubai, Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, UK & Ireland director Ian Scott, said: “Dubai is one of the fastest growing, most dynamic destinations in the world and close to one million UK and Irish visitors will visit the emirate this year.” And with this in mind, bringing the ITT conference to Dubai provides a unique and timely opportunity to “showcase this stunning and diverse destination to ITT members, from the city to the Palms, the beach to the desert ... and more. With Dubai as the host destination, it will certainly be a memorable conference.”

It’s a celebration!

It’s no surprise that the ITT conference will be making use of InterContinental Dubai Festival City’s extensive facilities – the hotel is set to become a new landmark in the city, so is sure to impress delegates next year.

Festival City is a world-class waterfront lifestyle resort that combines shopping, dining, entertainment, homes, schools, offices, hotels and leisure all in one place. It’s an ideal and highly convenient location for a hotel, particularly one that caters for meetings and events. Located on Dubai creek with stunning views in every direction and just a ten minute drive from Dubai International Airport.

InterContinental Dubai Festival City recently had its soft launch, opening the doors of over 250 rooms and two dining outlets – Anise, which offers international cuisine served from live cooking stations, and Vista Lounge bar, which has exceptional views of the creek and the city skyline.

Meeting facilities at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City include an impressive 40,660 square foot Event Centre across two levels that can be divided into eight break-out rooms, servicing anything from smaller VIP board meetings to a reception style banquet catering for up to 1800 guests. There’s also a 24-hour business centre and high-speed Wi-Fi internet access in all public areas.
